As a food reviewer, I can attest that the star of the show at Kanishka is undoubtedly the food. Each dish bursts with flavor, from the rich and creamy Shahi Paneer made with homemade Indian cheese and coconut milk to the heartwarming Baingan Bharta, where roasted eggplant meets aromatic spices. The kitchen excels in crafting seafood delicacies, like the mouthwatering Seafood Coconut Curry and the tangy Prawn Mango, which will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more.

One standout feature of Kanishka is the lunch thali, which I highly recommend. It provides a brilliant opportunity to sample various dishes, allowing diners to explore new flavors while enjoying generous portions that include rice, vegetables, and a sweet dessert. Customer reviews frequently highlight the fresh ingredients and exceptional taste, making it clear that Kanishka’s commitment to quality shines through in every bite.

Great place to visit when you're want to try more Indian food. I ordered the lunch thali where I could choose 5 different dishes. To be honest, I wasn't familiar with everything that I chose but still had a tasty meal and got to try some dishes I normally wouldn't. The thali comes with rice, vegetables, and dessert, so it's very filling. The restaurant is pretty big and there's a parking lot outside. Service was friendly as well.

Food and flavors: Exceptionally flavorful and fresh! Service and speed: Slow sometimes but kind, namak means salt by the way, in case you want some. Dine-in and Decor: Cozy local favorite, big Indian families always going out here, beautiful Indian decor! Dining in experience is good, I've never ordered online or done catering but we really love the saffron chicken tikka and fresh naan. I'm sad to see people leaving these subjective negative reviews... Definitely give it a try first! I love their spices.

After a friend's recommendation, I tried an Indian restaurant with a friend during their lunch special from 11 AM to 3 PM. We opted for the non-vegetarian thali, which allows you to choose 5 out of 7 available dishes. The meal also includes naan, a potato samosa, and a Gulab jamun. The butter chicken was particularly flavorful and delicious, and the jeera rice complemented the Shahi paneer and baigan masala well. The mutton curry is decent the mutton is flavorful however the least favorite of them all. The portions were quite generous, and we struggled to finish everything. I wouldn't suggest ordering anything extra. The service was good and they had ample seating. They had nice Indian music in the background. Will go again to try more dishes.

The food here is great. My indian friend highly recommended this place to me. I think it's the best for me. All the dishes is order to make so that it is fresh, hot and tasty. (so yes, there is a wait for the food.) The parking lot is quite busy here. The service here is great and friendly. The bread here large portion and taste great.

Kanishka is my favorite Indian restaurant in Seattle. Admittedly I wouldn't say I'm the best critic for Indian food; I mostly stick to the classics like butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. But Kanishka has easily made me crave Indian food more than any other Indian restaurant I've been to in the past. Here's what I enjoy ordering at Kanishka: - Garlic Parmesan Kulcha: this flat bread is a little pricey, but my GF and I always order this without question because it is oh so delicious, especially when you dip it into curry. I would love to try Kanishka's special three cheese naan the next time I go to compare. - Angara Butter Chicken: part of the chef's choice, this is tandoori chicken + butter chicken curry. Who would've thought that a combination of two classic Indian dishes would taste so good together. It tasted a bit more sour than classic butter chicken the first time I tried, but the tandoori chicken in curry really is a game changer. Some other dishes my GF and I have tried: chicken 65 biryani, paneer 65 biryani, butter chicken, angara achari chicken tikka, and tandoori chicken (the chicken 65 biryani or butter chicken was probably the best of these). I've also tried a thali here before which I thought was a really good value and pretty tasty. Service can be a bit hit or miss but is generally pretty good. I would avoid ordering through their online menu; since the last time I used it, it felt like no one came to confirm or follow up on our order until we asked.

We had a friend in town last night and wanted some Indian food so I checked my friend Jay T's Indian food collection on Yelp and we decided on Kanishka Cuisine of India. Also, a couple of us had been here before so that helped in our decision. The inside is deceptively large as there are two separate dining areas separated by a bar. We had great service and the restaurant was pretty busy the entire time we were there. We shared some dishes and some garlic and Bullet Naan (Bullet Naan was too hot for me!). All the dishes were wonderful and tasty. We had the Vijayawada biryani, Paneer Tikka Masala, Dum Aloo (stuffed potatoes cooked in Kanishka's special sauce), Chicken Korma, and Fish Saag. A nice touch was the staff offering us complimentary Chai Iced Tea (I think). It was creamy and sweet and helped offset some of the spiciness of the meal. Overall, we really enjoyed this seemingly authentic Indian restaurant. A great place to try!
